John Livingstone,Gananoque

John Livingstone was a machinist who also manufactured fishing tackle in a time period known from 1871 and after the period of 1887.John Livingstone was listed in various directories as a machinist making boat fittings and fishing tackle.In a 1886 directory under fishing tackle Chapman W.D.&Sons (Brockville)and John Livingstone (Gananoque)are the two listed fishing tackle makers.John Livingstone made metal fishing lures in various blade sizes and styles.The stampings on the blades are J.Livingstone Gananoque,Ont..The lures by this maker are very difficult to find and always have fetched good value when sold.To Ontario and metal collectors they are a prize find.(Thanks to Ken Kerr for sharing information).
